Free Sample – The Syrian Milkweed

This seems like a short book and it is in number of pages. It is a long book in terms of the quest through many old botanical papers in search of the reason a common milkweed in North America only is called the Syrian milkweed courtesy of Linnaeus.

Not everyone would learn botanical Latin to read these old papers. No English translations exist of most of them. Dr. Richard Rintz did just that. This book answers the question: Why does the Syrian milkweed not grow in Syria?
